Lenovo introduces the new Yoga laptops, 2-in-1 Chromebooks and two new tablets

After launching the IdeaPad Gaming 3i laptop (2021) in India last month, Lenovo today announced a host of new products at its annual Tech World 2021 virtual event. This includes two new laptops, several tablets and a new hybrid Chromebook that comes with detachable screen. So let’s take a brief look at the key specifications and features of these devices.

Yoga Slim 7 Series Notebooks

Starting with laptops, the Yoga Sim 7 series includes two models – Yoga Slim 7 Carbon and Yoga Slim 7 Pro. The Yoga Slim 7 Pro boasts a 16-inch QHD touchscreen with support for a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the lower Yoga Slim 7 Carbon comes with a 14-inch display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Under the hood, the Slim 7 Pro has up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor along with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. The Slim 7 Carbon, on the other hand, features up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U mobile processor along with up to an Nvidia GeForce MX450 GPU. Both devices have up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of SSD storage. While the Yoga Slim 7 Pro comes with support for microSD inputs to expand storage space or enhance your creative workflow, the Slim 7 Carbon doesn’t have that feature.

Coming to the battery, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro can deliver 12.5 hours of use on a single charge. The Slim 7 Carbon, however, comes with longer support for battery life. It can charge up to 14.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. Moreover, users can find two USB-A ports, one USB-C port and an HDMI port on the Slim 7 Pro. However, the lower Slim 7 Carbon only comes with two USB-As and one USB-C.

In terms of design, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro weighs about 2.1 kg and is 17.4 mm thick. But if users want a more portable option, they could opt for the Slim 7 Carbon as it comes with carbon fiber and weighs just over 1kg.

Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook

In addition to Yoga laptops, Lenovo has also unveiled a new Chromebook device two in one — the Lenovo Duet 5. The device has a 13.3-inch touch-enabled OLED panel that can be easily detached from the keyboard to turn into a Chrome OS tablet. The Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor, along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Furthermore, it comes with an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera for selfies and video calls. There are also two USB ports on the device. As for the battery, the Chromebook Duet 5 can run for up to 15 hours on a single charge.

Lenovo P Series Tablets

Lenovo P11 5G

In addition to new laptops and a hybrid Chromebook, Lenovo has also announced two new tablets – the P11 5G and P12 Pro.

The Lenovo P11 5G comes with an 11-inch screen with a maximum resolution of 2000 x 1660p. Under the hood, the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset, along with up to 8G RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. Users can also expand the internal memory thanks to the built-in microSD card slot. In addition, as the name suggests, the device comes with support for 5G networks and Wi-Fi 6.

Furthermore, the P11 5G comes with a single 13-megapixel camera sensor at the rear and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Other than this, you have four JBL speakers on board ia huge 7000 mAh battery which supports fast charging of 20W.

Lenovo P12 Pro

As for the premium P12 Pro tablet, it comes in two variants — with or without support for 5G networks. A Wi-Fi-only device variant was launched at the event. It boasts a 12.6-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a maximum resolution of 2500 x 1600p. It also supports HDR10 + and Dolby Vision technology to provide an impressive viewing experience.

Under the lid of the device is the Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with up to 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of internal memory. Moreover, there is a microSD card slot for further expansion of the internal memory.

As for the cameras, the P12 Pro comes with a setup with two rear cameras, including a 13 MP primary lens and a 5 MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the device has a 5 MP front camera.

Price and availability

Although there is no information on when the company plans to make the devices available for purchase, Lenovo has revealed the prices of the devices.

So, the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon starts at $ 1,290 (~ 94,913 Rs.), And the Slim 7 Pro in the US at $ 1,449 (~ $ 1,061,612). Chromebook Lenovo Duet 5 costs 430 USD (~ 31 637 Rs) for the base model.

Turning to the P-Series tablets, the starting price of the Lenovo P11 5G will start at $ 590 (~ Rs 43,410), while the P12 Pro variant for Wi-Fi only costs $ 610 (~ $ 44,881).

Lenovo will introduce all of the above devices sometime during October. The new Yoga laptops are devices based on Windows 11 and will work with the OS. Although the company has not yet announced an official launch date, we can expect Lenovo to start selling these products as soon as Microsoft starts introducing Windows 11 for compatible devices, starting October 5th.
