Android 12 Beta 3 is all about the dynamic Material You theme. Merging the changes to Pixel Launcher (among other items on our now mile-long list of items to write) is an updated Google Camera app that comes with this latest version . That’s right, Pixel’s world-class photography experience is now augmented by tasteful accents even as you shoot them.

In case you don’t know somehow, Material You is the name given to a handful of tweaks in Android 12 that allow the system to choose a range of accent colors from the background and allow apps and system components to inherit them for the maximum snazz.

Here: colored buttons.

The change is immediately visible but not particularly far-reaching, by coloring the zoom, the Save in button, and the currently selected mode in the default view to match the primary accent color chosen by the system. Other UI elements appear to be more or less the same in general, although the side scrolling mode menu is slightly lower on the display and the text is no longer precisely centered in the current indicator, but is shifted slightly towards the bass.

The submenus pick up these signals too, with switches inheriting saturated versions of the accent color. The font in the settings menu has also been slightly tweaked to accommodate other recently updated apps, echoing the Google Sans typefaces as dictated by the company’s new Material You guidelines announced in May. The separators between sections in Settings have also been removed.

Change is technically it is part of an 8.3.awholebunchofnumbers update for the Google Camera app, but appears to be rolling out as part of the Android 12 Beta 3 update and may rely on the changes present in Beta 3 to function properly.
